29 and 30 April 2027The Law Society, LondonIn English

In 2027 the International Bar Association (IBA) holds the first IBA World Product Law Conference: a global forum on product regulation, product liability, consumer protection and brand and risk management. Our colleague Martin Krüger is one of the organisers of the conference within the IBA.

What is the conference about?

The theme of the first edition is ‘The Dawning of a New Age’. Product law is becoming more complex and more international: products move through global and online supply chains, technology develops quickly, and regulators and claimants look across borders. Product safety, liability, consumer protection and reputation can therefore no longer be seen in isolation.

The programme covers product law worldwide and by sector, including:

  • life sciences and health;
  • automotive and mobility;
  • consumer products and retail;
  • food, beverages, cosmetics and supplements;
  • chemicals and packaging;
  • tech, software and AI;
  • industrial, energy and infrastructure products.

Who is it for?

The conference is aimed at everyone who deals with product risk: lawyers, in-house counsel and compliance officers, but also engineers, regulators, insurers, academics and technical experts. For a manufacturer selling in several countries, this is the place to hear how product rules are developing internationally.
