A good contract starts at the negotiating table. In this three-hour course, our contract law attorneys train your organisation in the whole contracting process: from negotiating and concluding the agreement to ending it. We pay extra attention to general terms and conditions: your own terms, those of the other party and industry terms.
Intake first
Every course starts with an intake. We speak with you beforehand to hear which challenges your organisation faces: which contracts you conclude, which terms you work with and where things go wrong in practice. On that basis we put the programme together and deliver a half-day tailored to you.
What do we cover?
- Negotiation and formation. When are you bound by an arrangement, what do you record in a quotation or letter of intent, and what should you watch for in negotiations?
- General terms and conditions. How do you make your own terms apply, what do you do when the other party refers to its terms, and how do you deal with industry terms?
- Termination. Giving notice, rescission and what you should arrange in the contract beforehand.
Programme
- IntakeShort intake: which contracts does your organisation conclude and what problems do you run into? We work with examples from your practice.

Who is it for?
For in-house counsel and contract managers, and for the people who negotiate and conclude contracts on behalf of the organisation: buyers, account managers and sales, and the commercial or managing director.
Who requests the course? Usually in-house counsel, the contract manager or the head of purchasing or sales. They know which contracts and terms are involved and who takes part in the contracting process.
